Subject: Progress and Planned Activity report (PPA) for returning
Masters and Doctoral students.
Dear
Medicine Masters and Doctoral Students
The MOU’s
and Progress and Planned Activity reports are due. You are required to complete
either the ACA47b form (if you are a first time student) or a ACA48 form
(if you are a returning student).
Kindly have
the correct form completed, signed by you and your supervisor. Thereafter
submit the completed hard copy form to the office of Prof Ntusi, where your for
will be added to the Vula site.
Please note that D2(b) form is discontinued and
will not be accepted by the Post graduate office under no circumstances. Should you have already complete a
D2(b) form please redo the correct ACA48 form.
You are required to submit the one of the following:
- ACA47(b) –
The abridged MOU (ACA47b) should be completed by postgraduate
students registering for the first time - This document lays out the
expectations of both supervisor and student, and is designed to ensure the
supervision experience is mutually productive. - The abridged MOU (ACA47b) should be
completed by postgraduate students registering for the first time for either their Master’s or Doctoral degree if they have not yet
finalized their research topic. These students should complete the full MOU
(ACA47a) within 6 months of registration, once their research proposal has been finalised. - ACA:48 Progress and Planned
Activity (PPA) Report must be completed for each
subsequent year as condition for renewal of registration. - Care should be taken in completing
this MOU in full, as it is a contractual agreement. - The
MOU will be used in any disputes
that may arise
during the period
a student is registered for a postgraduate degree.
- ACA48 –
For Returning Master’s And Doctoral
Students
- The purpose of this annual PPA is to
report on progress made in the past year, and to update any agreements in the
MoU that may require revision. - The PPA must be completed for each
subsequent year as a precondition for registration. - Care should be taken in completing
this PPA in full, as it is a contractual agreement. - The MOU and PPA(s) will be used in
any disputes that may arise during the period a student is registered for a
postgraduate degree.
